Isabel Katjavivi is the Director of Omba Arts Trust, a nonprofit organization that empowers Indigenous and rural artisans in Namibia through ethical trade, cultural preservation, and sustainable livelihoods. The Trust supports around 600 artisans, many of whom are marginalised women living on resettlement farms and conservancies, by providing training, market access, and advocacy rooted in dignity and heritage.

Katjavivi is a visual artist herself whose work explores themes of memory, loss, and cultural identity. Her art has been exhibited internationally and reflects her commitment to socially engaged practice. She has also worked across the creative, development, and heritage sectors—building bridges between communities, institutions, and markets to amplify underrepresented voices and create more inclusive cultural spaces.

“As a visionary leader I bridge worlds—honouring heritage while creating bold, inclusive pathways for economic and creative empowerment.”
