Founder and CEO, MAMLO FOODS

Irene Etyang is the Founder and CEO of MAMLO FOODS, a purpose-driven enterprise revolutionizing Africa’s peanut value chain through solar-powered, community-based micro-factories. With over a decade of experience in food product development and a degree in Food Science and Technology, Irene merges technical expertise with a deep commitment to gender equity and rural transformation. Under her visionary leadership, MAMLO FOODS is pioneering a decentralized processing model that reduces post-harvest losses, enhances traceability, and increases incomes for women smallholders farmers. By equipping rural communities to become producers and co-owners in the peanut value chain, MAMLO keeps value addition local and sustainable. Its flagship brand, MAMLO, delivers premium peanut butter while creating dignified livelihoods for farming families.
The impact of Irene’s work aligns with several UN Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Her innovative approach has created quality jobs to 12+ women and youth and increased incomes of over 500 rural women farmers in Western Kenya. Driven by the belief that food systems should nourish both people and the planet, Irene is building a future where every product MAMLO creates uplifts the women and communities behind it.
