Hilal Ulukaya is a social entrepreneur and the co-founder of Society Mano, an ethical fashion brand that merges artisanal craft with data-driven innovation to promote inclusive economic growth. As the brand’s co-founder and creative director, Hilal oversees design, artisan collaboration, and strategic development, building a sustainable brand that empowers women while leveraging her background in engineering and technology.

Society Mano produces 100% handmade knitwear crafted by women artisans across Turkey. The brand creates dignified home-based employment for women, supports traditional craftsmanship, and champions ethical fashion. Its mission directly supports UN Sustainable Development Goals 1 (No Poverty), 5 (Gender Equality), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).

Hilal began her career in aerospace strategy, leading enterprise performance initiatives and designing scalable technology reporting tools. She now applies these skills to build a data-informed fashion brand that bridges creativity and measurable social impact.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and a master’s degree in Information Systems (STEM) from The City University of New York. Hilal is a certified Empowered Women Leader by the Women Impact Alliance and has served as a mentor for student entrepreneurs as a Blackstone LaunchPad Fellow and adjunct lecturer.
