Focus Areas

Through her non-profit, Her Dream Initiative, Sanmi-Lawal has engaged over 6,500 women and girls across 21 countries via podcasts, articles, advocacy campaigns, and outreach programs. Her Dream Initiative is a youth-led organisation that empowers women and girls across the globe especially at the intersection of climate, women’s economic empowerment and education.

Sanmi-Lawal is a Gender and International Development Consultant, holding a Master’s degree in International Human Rights Law at the University of Leicester. In November 2024, she was named the winner of the Empowering Change Award by the Global Youth Awards, celebrating her contributions to advancing gender equity and social justice. She is a Youth Partner of the UNODC Network of Women in Law and Policy Against Organized Crime and member of the SRHR and Climate Justice Coalition.
