Focus Areas
Hayasa Tahmazyan is the Founding President of the Armenia Corps Development Initiative. ArmeniaCorps is a dynamic platform acknowledging and mobilizing local capacities through knowledge, collective action, and local service to deliver data-driven, sustainable, and cutting-edge development tailored to the needs of Armenia.
Tahmazyan is also a Board Member at Aleppo Compatriotic Charitable Organization, devoted to supporting and advocating for thousands of refugees in Armenia.
She is recognized for her expertise in designing systemized and knowledge-to-action strategies fostering local development through education, socio-economic inclusion, youth development, women empowerment, and poverty reduction among rural, displaced, conflict-affected, and vulnerable populations.
Tahmazyan is a Fulbright awardee, IVLP alumna, and co-founder of an award-recipient COVID-19 International Student Task Force, which assisted 300+ students facing financial and food insecurity during the pandemic. She holds an M.A. in International Development Studies from Ohio University.
