Gehad Hamdy is the Founder of Speak Up, an Egyptian feminist initiative dedicated to ending sexual harassment and gender-based violence. Speak Up provides advocacy, legal aid, and awareness campaigns, empowering women and raising gender equality awareness in Egypt and across the SWANA region.
Hamdy is an award-winning activist with a background in healthcare and over four years of leadership in the non-profit sector. She has been recognized internationally for her impactful work, including being named one of BBC’s 100 Most Influential Women in 2022. She has received accolades such as Social Change Maker of the Year by The Stevie Awards, the International Humanitarian Award by Women4Africa, and many other international honors.
