Gabriela González is currently a Councilor in the Mayor’s Office of Miguel Hidalgo in Mexico City. She chairs the citizen security commission and is secretary of the Gender Equality Commission, where she works to monitor public policies in favor of security and protection for women on behalf of the Mayor’s Office.

Previously, Gabriela was the National Director of Political Promotion of Women for her party, where she trained all women who aspired to occupy a popularly elected position. In addition, she published the first protocol for attention to political gender violence from the country. She also served as the Director of Social Policies in the Ministry of Social Development, where her main function was to install and operate more than 10,000 children’s homes that served more than one million working women. The program was named the best gender program by the UN. Gabriela has been a local and federal legislator, where she worked since on issues of education, childhood, and women, with the purpose of establishing a better legal framework for the protection of the most vulnerable.
