Faridah Hamzat is the Founder and Creative Director of Trendy N Vogue Apparel, a clothing company that designs and produces Afrocentric clothing and accessories for women and children. Trendy N Vogue Apparel is an alternative to imported clothing that maintains a balance between Western designs and Afro-centric culture and fashion style. Additionally, Trendy N Vogue Apparel provides skills training and employment to women in the community who often live-in unfavorable conditions, have little or no access to education, or face cultural barriers to making a livelihood and supporting their family. Faridah is committed to promoting economic inclusion for women and girl’s education through Trendy N Vogue Apparel. Faridah holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Economics from the Usmanu Danfodiyo University in Sokoto, Nigeria. She also serves as the Co-founder and Vice President of the Association of Northern Women Entrepreneurs (ANWE), the Co-founder and Principal Consultant of the Sustainable Impact Hub, and the State Coordinator for the African Women’s Entrepreneurship Program (AWEP). Faridah acts as a role model for many women and youth in Sokoto State and wants to use her knowledge and experience to grow her business, employ more staff, impact her community, and provide a platform for training and business development for women and youth.
