Farida Bassa-Rivera

Farida is a specialist in adult education and business enablement who is passionate about development in Africa. Stemming from this passion she founded Insight Consulting SL (LTD) to provide adult education and business consulting services. Insight Consulting SL’s mission is to provide quality training programs to ensure learners receive the necessary skill sets to meet the human development needs of Sierra Leone and the African continent at large. They support UN Sustainable Development Goal 4, Quality Education, by providing inclusive and equitable education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all. Farida’s experience spans across the Aviation and Financial Services industries, with specialist experience in Banking, Youth Education, and the Public Sector, with a special interest in Youth Empowerment. Her most notable achievement to date has been founding a business as a woman in one of the least developed economies in the world and having a positive social on her community, with learning programs having been successfully rolled out to companies, including giants of the African economy and Fortune 500 Companies. Farida holds a bachelor’s in Education and Training from North West University (Potchefstroom) and an Executive MBA from the Henley Business School (United Kingdom). She serves as an Advisory Board Member at the Mamelodi Initiative (South Africa), is the Executive Representative of the Commercial Agricultural Producers Association (Sierra Leone), and is a consultant to the British Chamber of Commerce (Sierra Leone).
