Erica Tengan is the Co-Founder and Head of Operations and Portfolio at Sustainability News Africa, a sustainability intelligence media platform dedicated to amplifying African sustainability stories, innovations and initiatives that are often overlooked on the global stage. Through the platform, she has co-led the development of the continent’s first news tracker for the AU Agenda 2063 coupled with the integration of the Agenda 2063 into sustainability journalism by aligning every African sustainability story with relevant Agenda 2063 goals. She also leads a fully remote Pan-African network of interns, equipping emerging leaders with skills digital skills in sustainability reporting, research, leadership and strategic storytelling.

As a sustainability and ESG storyteller, social media strategist and engagement specialist, Erica holds a master’s in management and administration. She is currently leading The Africa We Want Is… Youth In Action series, spotlighting young Africans whose innovations and initiatives are advancing Agenda 2063 and the African Youth Charter. Her work is driven by the belief that empowering informed storytellers and visionary young leaders is essential to reshaping Africa’s sustainable future.
