Owner and Operator, The Plot Market Garden
Emily Harris is the co-owner and operator of The Plot Market Garden and the community engagement coordinator for the Sandown Centre for Regenerative Agriculture. The Plot Market Garden is a small-scale regenerative vegetable farm that offers fresh produce direct to consumers, at grocery stores and restaurants throughout Greater Victoria. The farm contributes to strengthening food security by partnering with a local initiative to provide food boxes to lower-income, BIPOC, and disabled folks. The Plot impacts UN Sustainable Goals 2, Zero Hunger; 3, Good Health and Well Being; 12, Responsible Consumption and Production; 13, Climate Action and 15, Life on Land. Some achievements include winning the Saanich Environmental Award in the business category in 2021 and the VISA She’s Next Grant in partnership with iFundWomen in 2022. Emily has a degree in Geography from the University of Victoria, a certificate in Permaculture Design from the Brighton Permaculture Trust, and a Diploma in Visual Arts from Camosun College. Emily hopes to make a positive impact by engaging the community on the importance of small-scale regenerative farming.
