Founder and Managing Director, Sure Starts Inclusive Early Childhood and Primary School
Elizabeth (Liz) F. Mleli is the Founder and Managing Director of Sure Starts Inclusive Early Childhood and Primary School. She is a social entrepreneur who believes in innovative solutions to social problems. Through Sure Starts school, she is working on inclusive education to ensure that every child who comes to their school has access to quality education regardless of their ability. Children are born ready to learn and deserve to be given that opportunity. The social impact of their business is realized through positively changing the lives of people, starting with young children, and creating a foundation for a better world for everyone. They impact four of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, including SDG 4, Quality Education, SDG 5, Gender Equality, SDG 3, Good Health and Well-Being, and SDG 10, Reduced Inequalities. One of Elizabeth’s notable achievements is establishing and running an inclusive school for nine years. In addition to the curriculum, Sure Starts delivers social and emotional support as well as educating the hearts of their children by instilling good morals and values. Elizabeth believes that her purpose in life is to champion the needs of socially excluded groups of people in her community. Every child and every individual has a purpose but some need a little support to walk side by side with their purpose. Elizabeth holds a Master of Social Science in Economics of Social Studies from the University of Wales, Swansea, United Kingdom, and a PGD in Leadership from Aalto University, Finland in partnership with Uongozi Institute, Tanzania, and is currently pursuing certification in Coaching from the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
