Claudia Cornejo is an experienced public and private sector expert. She served as Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru until 2021. As a public official she also acted as Vice Minister of Tourism and National Director of Tourism Development. During her period as Minister she lead the team that elaborated the National Trade and Tourism Recovery Strategy after the Covid-19 pandemic.

Claudia has spent most of her professional career contributing on the strengthening of public private partnerships. She was CEO at the National Confederation of Private Organizations (CONFIEP), the largest private organization in Peru, which represents the most relevant industries in the country. As CEO, she created the first women in the private sector working group and the first human rights and enterprise working group.

Ever since the beginning of her career, Claudia has advocated for equal opportunities for women in the workplace and in the political arena. She was also the focal point for the Global Compact National Network, where she coordinated the efforts to promote the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs, inviting organizations to join the initiative and engage in the adoption of its goals.

Claudia completed her MSc in Political Communication at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is a co-founder of the Conscious Capitalism movement in Peru and is a member of the advisory council of TEDXTukuy.
