Clara Rojas Gonzalez

Clara Rojas Gonzalez is a former member of Parliament in Colombia and is currently a consultant with Consultoria CR SAS. In 2002, during the campaign for the Colombian presidential elections, Clara was kidnapped by FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) and held for six years. She wrote a book about the experience as well as her time in Parliament titled CAPTIVE.

Clara was previously a lawyer who specialized in trade and tax law and served in the National Planning Department and the Ministry of Foreign Trade. She attended the Universidad del Rosario and holds a masters’ degree in political science.

She was selected as a Fellow for the 2019-2020 VV Engage Cohort.
