Founder, CEO and Creative Director, Clatural Wear Limited
Clara Pinkrah-Sam is a “multipotentialite” Ghanaian award-winning fashion designer and the founder of Clatural, an ethical and sustainable fashion brand. She is also a practicing pharmacist, a medical transcriptionist, and an IT Consultant with over 18 years of experience with the World Bank and UNDP on both private and public sector projects. Formed completely out of nurturing her hobby of creating unique and exciting designs from fabrics and leather, Clatural was founded in 2017, and she serves as the CEO and Creative Director of the brand. Clatural’s mission is to provide sustainable and ethical apparel for both men and women within the shortest possible time. Women comprise 75% of Clatural’s workforce with 2% of employment reserved for persons with disability. Clatural is committed to implementing UN SDG 7, Affordable and Clean Energy; SDG 8, Decent Work and Economic Growth; SDG 10, Reduced Inequalities; SDG 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities; SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals, and counting. A unique signature design called the MESH supports a zero-waste tolerance policy and 45% of Clatural’s production line uses solar energy.
Confident enough to name her brand after herself; (Clara Natural = Clatural), the Clatural Lounge is the brand’s opulence boutique in Accra, Ghana, and also has two locations in New York City. She is a Rotarian and the Charter President of the Rotary Club of Accra Morning Tide, Ghana. As a mother, her hobbies include mentorship, reading, and swimming
