About Christine

Christine is the CEO, The Training Institute (and Co-Founder, Freetown Business School), an educational institution that offers a wide range of finance, marketing, management, business IT and language courses in Sierra Leone. The company aims to help organizations project a more professional image by providing professional development training courses for C-suite managers and above. Another of their training offers, the Work-Ready program offers a nine-month intensive training and assessment program with the goal of preparing graduates for the work force that have expertise in entrepreneurial leadership, communication skills, project management and data-driven decision making. The curriculum for the Work-Ready program is based on a blended learning system that leans heavily on publicly-available online materials and courses combined with peer-based learning, and the use of technology to maximize the efficiency and the effectiveness of the learning process. The institute was created to address a workforce gap, the lack of employees with sufficient experience and exposure to meet growing global demands, and mitigate one of the major difficulties organizations in Sierra Leone face today. Christine also serves as Vice President of Operations and Administration at Kepler Kigali, a nonprofit higher education program, in Kigali, Rwanda. She holds a Bachelors in Accounting & Finance from Dublin City University, a Masters in Finance from the National College of Ireland and is also a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

What Christine hopes to gain from the VV GROW Fellowship:

Christine is passionate about education and is hoping to exchange ideas and knowledge with other fellows with the same interests. She is also hoping to connect with other fellows from West Africa and gain insight from those that are also operating their businesses in an unstable environment. In addition, she hopes to learn how to develop stronger marketing plans for the business.

What Christine can offer other fellows:

Christine has expansive experience in building a successful business within a short period and she is eager to share her experiences and the strategies she employed. She also has a background in finance and NGOs and can share her experience working in those sectors.
