Christiana Okere is a purpose-driven self-starter with work and life experience in Fintech, Education, and Agribusiness. Her career journey spans both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. In the nonprofit space, she worked on UN-specific projects aimed at rehabilitating and educating victims of armed conflict in Northeast Nigeria. After three impactful and fulfilling years, she was inspired to start Indigi Foods, a food innovation business that transforms under-utilized indigenous grains into nutritious plant-based foods. This venture earned her a place in the TEFxBADEA program for female entrepreneurs and the LEAP4FNSSA program as one of the best 25 businesses dealing with sustainable food systems in Africa.
Currently, Christiana serves as Co-founder and Executive Director at myStash, a venture-backed Fintech company fostering economic prosperity for Africans through financial inclusion. The myStash app enables formal and informal economy workers to allocate a percent of their earnings for savings in dollars. Beyond savings, myStash offers free financial literacy workshops to help users make smarter financial decisions. Their work supports SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). Christiana is committed to fostering entrepreneurship and human capacity-building as a means of driving social and economic development.
In 2024, her work in the Financial Inclusion space earned her a 40-Under-40 award by the Black Women in Asset Management (BWAM). She is also recognized as a Young Global Changemaker, and a Halcyon Fellow.
