Chelsea Brown

Chelsea Brown is the founder and CEO of Millie, a social enterprise and community that amplifies women’s voices. Millie believes in the power of connection and compassion to expand perspective and improve lives. The Millie Marketplace, an online shop featuring handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces, promotes economic opportunities and empowerment for women, working with makers in more than 15 countries. Chelsea also hosts and produces The Millie Podcast, introducing listeners to extraordinary women, and interviewing thought-leaders like Dame Elizabeth Anoinwe DBE FRCN, Sangita Patel, Lina Khalifeh, Pauline Schmidt, Nadine Kaadan, and more. Chelsea is also a Digital Communications Specialist at the Institute for Canadian Citizenship, a non-profit that works to unlock Canada for newcomers. A women’s advocacy champion and human rights and education equity activist, Chelsea sits on the International advisory board of Femme International, an organization that helps address the needs of menstruators in low-income communities. To date, under Chelsea’s dynamic leadership, Millie has collaborated with 70+ women globally, shared 40 WOC stories, created the Sitti x Millie scholarship campaign for women and girls, revived the Pin Project, and contributed over $100,000 to programs that facilitate access to education. Millie’s partner organizations include Femme International, Hopes for Women in Education, Turquoise Mountain, and more. A Toronto native, Chelsea has lived in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada and has traveled extensively for work and pleasure. She has made over 15 trips to Jordan with Millie Travels, which has provided her the clarity: “only by forging relationships with people across the world can we improve it.”
