Freedom to RISE (Radically Inspiring Self Excellence) is a nonprofit organization founded by Chanel Kennedy-Bertrand. The organization’s mission is to enhance literacy through engaging group and individual reading sessions, empowering individuals of all ages with essential skills for personal and academic success. Built on the pillars of Wellness, Education, and Leadership, Freedom to RISE offers four 10-week sessions each year and hosts a book swap book club to foster ongoing engagement with literature.

Kennedy-Bertrand holds a Master of Science in Information Systems, a Master of Nonprofit Administration, a Master of Arts in Christian Formation, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Education, she is committed to creating impactful programs that utilize phonics and sound blending techniques to support literacy development.
