Ceylan Rowe is a passionate social changemaker and entrepreneur. Whether it be through business, non-profit organizations, or government, she has been passionately fighting for gender equity locally and globally for over 25 years. She is the founder of Fihri, a social enterprise focused on ensuring all menstruators have access to period products that are sustainable, as well as reducing the stigma around menstruation and alleviating period poverty. 500 million menstruators globally do not have access to period products each month, and one out of five students in the United States do not have access to period products every month. To address this, Fihri hosts Period Palooza- their period kit-making event where companies, school groups, sports teams, religious groups, and non-profits assemble reusable pouches, pads, tampons, and environmentally friendly panty liners; and provide sponsorship for students in need of free menstrual products. They also offer a one-for-one program- where when you buy a period product for yourself, Fihri donates a pad or tampon to someone who needs it. Previously, Ceylan ran for State Representative, was a Commissioner on the Metrowest Commission on the Status of Women, was a board member for She’s Local, an Advisor for Greater Boston Girl Up Coalition, and many more. Moreover, Ceylan has spoken at women’s conferences throughout the United States about gender equity and entrepreneurship. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Northeastern University and completed her MBA at Babson College. There is more work to do and she is excited to work with fellow changemakers.
