Caroline Gibu is a founding member and Executive Director of the civic association Ciudadanos al Día, a Peruvian private non-profit and non-partisan organization, created in 2002 to boost civic engagement, improve public management, and be a source of reliable information on topics of citizen interest.

At Ciudadanos al Día, she has been a principal researcher and team leader in the fields of transparency and access to information, new information technologies, and modernization of public management and social responsibility. She has led projects for the World Bank, Global Integrity, International Budget Partnership, Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Before joining the Ciudadanos al Día team, she worked at the National Institution for the Defense of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi).

From 2012-2014, she was a member of the Multisectoral Commission for the Implementation of the Plan of Action of Open Government in Peru. She studied Economics at Universidad del Pacífico and Social Projects Management at Hifab – Swedish International Development Agency in Sweden.

 

She was selected as a Fellow for the first VV Engage Cohort.
