Student
Candela Yatche is a Psychology student at the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). She is part of the research group financed by the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET), which researches the relationship between eating habits, physical activity, and body image in teenage girls. Candela is also the founder of Bellamente [Beautifully], a social project created to make people aware of how media, society, and culture impose an unrealistic and unhealthy ideal of beauty. Through social media, workshops, and talks, she proposes a space for face-to-face and virtual discussions where we can re-think the dominant idea of beauty and promote self-acceptance.
She was an intern at Borda Hospital, in the Eating Disorders area. She also attended the Desórdenes Alimenticios [Eating Disorders] program at the La Casita Foundation. She led informal education initiatives in the Mi Refugio neighborhood. She accompanied Patch Adams to the Belen Festival, an intensive experience in community activism.
Candela was selected as a participant in the 2019 Voces Que Inspiran
