Focus Areas

Beverley Choo is the Co-Founder of GreenCheck, a youth-led nonprofit that aims to advance global climate justice by serving as a grassroots-centric intermediary and climate ally incubator. GreenCheck has redirected tens of thousands of dollars, expertise, and other resources to empower youth and meet key needs across communities in Colombia, Guatemala, Haiti, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Uganda, and more.

Choo is the Development Associate at Mongabay, an independent environmental media nonprofit. She also served as a Youth Panelist for the Global Fund for Children’s Southeast Asia Climate Spark Fund, and was a part of the inaugural cohort of Future Rising Fellows at Girl Rising. Choo completed her BA in Environmental Studies from Yale-NUS College and is an incoming student at the University of Oxford’s MSc in Nature, Society and Environmental Governance programme.
