Betsy is the Managing Member at Mass Hire, a company that offers premium demolition, compaction, concrete mixing, concrete finishing, and scaffolding equipment to Port Elizabeth and surrounding areas. Betsy took over management of Mass Hire in Port Elizabeth in 2012 and expanded operations to a second branch in Walmer enabling Mass Hire to serve the entire Eastern Cape from Port Elizabeth to Jansenville and Lusikisiki. Mass Hire’s business is built on their three key pillars of service, efficiency, and fair pricing. By ensuring quality, efficient service at an affordable price, Mass Hire guarantees that customers are satisfied with their tools and continue to rent from Mass Hire. Betsy is an advocate for women’s entrepreneurship and leadership and has received many prestigious awards, including the Business Women’s Association of South Africa (BWASA), National Business Achievers Award for Social Entrepreneurship, Royal Rotary Club of Port Elizabeth Meritorious Service Award, and Business Partners Certificate of Recognition Honoring Exceptional Achievement. She is also the Founder of e-Watchdog, a company dedicated to making a sustainable impact on African economies by supporting the growth of small enterprises, and the Siyaloba training academy, a social organization that promotes individual development and a better quality of life for South Africa’s coastal and fishing communities. Betsy has also organized Vital Voices mentoring walks every year for the past 10 years.
