As Undersecretary of Prevention and Eradication of Violence Against Women, Girls, Boys, and Adolescents, Desirée Viteri leads efforts to prevent and eradicate violence through policy development, monitoring, and evaluation. In her role, she articulates comprehensive protection systems and implements prevention programs while providing services for victims of gender-based violence.

With extensive experience in human rights advocacy and gender equality, Viteri has previously served as Human Rights, Gender, and Inclusion National Director and as Care, Special Protection, and Reparation for Victims of Violence, Exploitation, Trafficking, Smuggling, and other Priority Care Groups Director. She spearheaded initiatives to empower women and promote gender-sensitive policies. Viteri’s commitment to social justice drives her leadership to build a better world.
