Aisha Paz is an 18-year-old Brazilian Nursing Technician intern at Fortaleza, Ceará. Passionate about reproductive health, she leads several projects in the area of sex education and women’s health rights in her state, focusing on supporting teenage mothers through her own initiative, Holding Hands, where she is President and Designer of Sex Education material. She is specializing in promoting girls’ health rights through law, currently working on a free menstrual hygiene bill with politicians. As a daughter of a teenage mother, Aisha works to prevent teenage pregnancy and support young mothers through interdisciplinary actions in her initiative, such as advocacy, the book club, lectures, fundraising and storytelling. Through her journey, Aisha was recognized by the U.S. Department of State, Ashoka, Harvard Undergraduate Foreign Policy Initiative, Wake Forest University, Latin America Leadership Academy, OPovo and Our Human Family. Her dream is to work with reproductive health research and also advocacy for women’s health rights.

Aisha was selected as a participant in the 2021 Voces Que Inspiran.
