Founder/Creative Director, PLANET 3R
Adejoke Lasisi is an African fabric designer and environmentalist based in Nigeria. She is the founder of Planet 3R and Jokelinks Weaving School. Planet 3R is a social enterprise dedicated to converting textile and plastic wastes into eco-friendly products using the 3R strategy (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to save planet Earth by weaving them into innovative items.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife. She also holds a certificate in Entrepreneurial Management from EDC Lagos, Nigeria. In the span of three years, her organization has collected 948,352 kg of recyclable waste from the street, trained 362 youth and women, and educated over 10,000 students across various secondary schools in Nigeria and other parts of Africa. Her aspirations are diverse, but her utmost goal is to preserve Nigeria’s cultural heritage and impart knowledge of handwoven fabrics to youths and women through entrepreneurial skill acquisition programs in Nigeria.
Adejoke has won several awards for her weaving skills and positive impact. Her work and her journey have been featured on Aljazeera, BBC, Channels TV, The Nigerian Tribune, The Punch, Nigerian Television Authority, TVC News, The Nation Newspaper, and other popular sources.
