ANN INC. and Vital Voices are proud to announce the 2013 ANNpower Fellows!

50 ANNpower Fellows represent twenty-three states and Puerto Rico and have been chosen for their outstanding leadership potential and involvement in their communities. They’re passionate about issues ranging from chess to boxing to entrepreneurship, and they have creative ideas for how to tackle these challenges. Meet a few of these rising stars:

Portia from California plans to develop an arts exchange program to build relationships between teens in her hometown of San Diego and those in Tijuana, Mexico.

Sarah from New Jersey has built a website to connect youth to part-time jobs and volunteer opportunities.

Nia from Georgia wants to share her love of reading by launching a campaign to promote youth literacy in Atlanta.

Portia, Sarah, and Nia are examples of the extraordinary young women who represent the 2013 Class of ANNpower Fellows. Learn more about the 2013 Fellows.

In April, the Fellows will attend the 2013 ANNpower Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C., where they will be provided with the skills, training and mentorship they need to realize their full leadership potential. They’ll be mentored by women from Vital Voices’ Global Leadership Network, as well as executives from ANN INC. With the guidance of these ANNpower Mentors, Fellows will develop project ideas to tackle issues in their communities. Stay tuned to this blog for updates on the 2013 Mentors.

Additionally, Fellows will undergo training in Vital Voices’ signature leadership model and public speaking, meet with powerful women in Washington, and learn from inspiring women leaders from around the world. Want to learn more? Check out highlights from the 2012 Leadership Forum.

On behalf of Vital Voices and ANN INC., we are thrilled to welcome the newest class of ANNpower Fellows. Congratulations and welcome to the ANNpower network!
