Zora applies her regional expertise to the Voices Against Violence Urgent Assistance Fund at Vital Voices. In this role, Zora provides programmatic support, case management, and implements projects designed to provide services to survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and other women-focused empowerment programs in Asia.

Prior to joining Vital Voices, Zora received her BA from the University of California, Berkeley in Political Science and her Master of Law in Human Rights at the National University of Ireland, Galway. While at Berkeley, she focused on researching and developing a strong understanding of the humanitarian issues facing the MENA region. In the past, she has worked as a Research Associate at Transparency International Ireland and as a Program Coordinator for a refugee-focused NGO in France. Zora is passionate about providing expertise in programmatic endeavors concerning the Asia region- with a specialization in Afghanistan. Zora’s academic and professional experiences have provided her the inspiration necessary to strengthen the Vital Voices’s mission to provide intersectional, inclusive humanitarian aid to women to “transform lives and accelerate peace and prosperity in their communities.”

Zora currently splits her time between her home in Orange County, California and Washington D.C. Zora speaks Pashto and Spanish.
