Tazreen is a Director on the Leadership & Social Impact team. In this role she leads the coordination of the VV100 Initiative, the Leadership Incubator, the Vital Voices Honoree Program and provides tailored support to women of the Vital Voices Global Leadership Network.

Tazreen is a gender specialist with experience in the areas of women’s empowerment, capacity building, civic participation and women in peace and security programming globally. Prior to her role at Vital Voices, Tazreen was the Gender Advisor at The Center for Civilians in Conflict where she worked with and supported government leaders, security sector personnel, and civilian communities on a gender-sensitive approach to civilian harm mitigation procedures, practices and policies.

At the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), Tazreen supported global gender equality and intersectional women’s empowerment programming by developing tools and implementing programs focused on democracy, governance, electoral support and political process strengthening. With a focus on inclusion of marginalized communities, Tazreen regularly provided technical advice and support to women’s rights organizations, disability rights organizations, human rights activists and leaders and electoral stakeholders globally. She was the chief lead in developing IFES’ Male Allies for Leadership Equality (MALE) training curriculum and contributed to publications including IFES’ Violence Against Women in Elections (VAWIE) framework. Tazreen holds a Master’s in Public Policy from George Mason University and a Bachelor’s of Science in Political Science from Florida State University.
