Ryan is the Vice President, Finance and Grants for the Finance team at Vital Voices. He provides leadership and strategic planning for the organization’s fiscal management and grantmaking capabilities.
Ryan has more than fifteen years of finance experience with a focus on budget development, financial modeling, and strategic planning. Most recently, he worked in finance and policy development for the District of Columbia public education sector. He was the Director of Budget and Finance at the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education, where he led the team that managed the agency’s $1 billion budget, oversaw the District’s school finance policies, and administered the annual $1 billion of payments to public charter schools. Prior to that he was the Director of Finance and Real Estate for DC Prep public charter school, where he oversaw the financing and construction of multiple school buildings.
Ryan received a Masters in Business Administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and his Master in Education Leadership from the Broad Center for the Management of School Systems. In his free time he enjoys gardening, board games, and reading.
