Isatu Barry

Isatu is the Program Assistant on the Leadership and Social Impact team at Vital Voices, where she supports the Engage Fellowship. She helps manage the program’s day-to-day operations, including logistics, events, data tracking, and communications with participants and stakeholders.

Before joining Vital Voices, Isatu spent nearly two years at EnCompass LLC as a Project Coordinator, overseeing operations across a $15 million portfolio of more than eight concurrent international projects spanning global health, gender equity, and climate resilience. She managed logistics for over 15 convenings and strengthened knowledge management systems used by more than 150 stakeholders.

A longtime advocate for gender equity, Isatu has delivered a TEDx Talk on ending FGM/C and volunteered with organizations including the Global Woman P.E.A.C.E. Foundation and the U.S. End FGM/C Network. She holds degrees in International Studies and Arabic Studies from American University, where she graduated magna cum laude.
