Annakarina is a Program Coordinator on the Global Network & Regional Engagement team at Vital Voices. She primarily focuses on supporting the Voices Against Violence Fellowship within the Voices Against Violence: Gender-Based Violence Initiative. She is a first generation immigrant from Venezuela and provides regional and linguistic expertise to Latin America & the Caribbean projects.
Annakarina completed a Master of Human Rights at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School of Public Affairs and College of Liberal Arts. Prior to joining Vital Voices, Annakarina supported the work of various nonprofits. As an intern at Global Rights for Women, an NGO based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she supported the organization’s goal of eradicating violence against women and girls through legal and social reform. She also provided direct intake and immigration services to low-income Latino communities through her intern role at Mil Mujeres Legal Services.
