A Rising Voices University Club serves as dedicated space on campus for women and gender-expansive leaders in the D.C. area to come together to enact social change. Each club designs its own unique project that speaks to a pressing need or issue in the community, and members will use collective action to turn their bold ideas into bold actions. Potential project areas might include: having contraceptives more readily available on college campuses, pushing universities to adopt equitable policies, or creating community-wide mentoring structures for girls in STEM. Whatever the chosen focus, Vital Voices will be there to support each club through tailored toolkits, training materials, and workshops focused on projects and leadership more broadly.

Accepted applicants will serve as their club’s President and will be their university’s Delegate for meetings with Rising Voices staff.

APPLICATION INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS:

University women and gender-expansive university/college students should apply with a specific club focus in mind that aligns with Vital Voices core values. They should also be able to specify how they will make unique contributions to their chosen issue.

Applicants must be university, college or community college students in the D.C., Maryland or Northern Virginia area for the entirety of the 2024-2025 academic year.

Club leaders will be expected to attend monthly meetings with Rising Voices staff, take part in feedback surveys and lead their own clubs on campus with a chosen focus.
