“It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for – and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing. It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool – for love – for your dreams – for the adventure of being alive.”
List five things that people could ask you about
1. Dancing like no one’s watching 2. Desserts 3. California 4. Finding the glitter in life 5. Anything people want to talk about. If they find it interesting, I’ll find it interesting.
What inspired you to work at Vital Voices, and what do you love about your job here?
I came across the website, and the first thing I saw was a quote from Rosana Schaack, a 2012 Global Leadership Award Honoree. She said: “I like to help people find their inner strength.” For me, this simple, sincere statement perfectly captured the mission of this organization, and resonated with me. My passion to serve is driven by the desire to help others achieve their greatest potential. After reading Rosana’s quote, that was it – I had to work here. And what I love most about Vital Voices, is working with incredible women leaders like Rosana every day.
What is the most unusual thing you keep at your desk?
One side of my cubicle has been made into a collaborative happiness wall. My cubicle neighbors over the years have taped up little things – posters, notes, decorations – that make them happy. A good reminder to take a break when things get crazy.
What’s your Myers-Briggs? Is it accurate?
ENFP. 100%. My favorite quote says it all.
