Jennifer Classen is the Managing Member of Ngaphaya Y2K10, which is a sourcing and procurement company who supply government, parastatals and corporates with an expanding range of specialized, customized and technically complex products like ICT equipment, specialized diving gear, tools and machinery. Ngaphaya Y2K10 is a Level 1 B-BBEE, 100% Female owned company and is ISO 9001:2015 certified. They have secured a number of preferred supplier and partner agreements with international and local manufactures and corporates. Among other services, they provide hospitals with technology equipment and thermal transfer ribbon. They are also the sole supplier of a variety of their products to major government, public and private clients and choose products to fill these unique client needs. Where their clients experience “pain” points, they offer the solution to ease that “pain”. An example of this is with Y2K10 Finance, Jennifer saw that women business owners were struggling to find tender finance in order to deliver a product or service. To respond to this need she founded Y2K10 Finance. Jennifer’s vision for Ngaphaya Y2K10 is to build on the existing groups within the company to strengthen and build them further, in particular the ICT component. Jennifer is also the CEO of Y2K10 Finance and the Director of Venus Sourcing. She as expertise in strategic planning, sourcing, team building and marketing. Jennifer has received a certificate in Voyage to Wisdom from Creativity Foundation, as well as participated in the Corporate Governance Development Program, studied Foundations of Business through USB Executive Development. She has also studied supply chain management, SHERQ risk management, basic financial statements, fundamentals of project management, applied leadership concepts and HIV & Aids in the Workplace from the University of Limpopo.
What Jennifer hopes to gain from the VV GROW Fellowship: Jennifer hopes to learn from the skills of fellows. She is looking to expand her business further across Africa and is interested in collaborating from women in a variety of countries. She is specifically interested in learning more about different markets across Africa from fellows. Jennifer is also looking to learn how to optimize social media for her business.
What Jennifer can offer other fellows: Jennifer can share her business skills with fellows through sharing her experiences and listening to fellows share their experiences.
