Jayla Partlow

Program Assistant, Human Rights

As a Program Assistant to the Human Rights team at Vital Voices, Jayla provides regional knowledge and linguistic support for Sub-saharan Africa and the MENA region to the Human Rights Team. She also assists with logistics and implementation of the Voices Against Violence Urgent Assistance Fund.

Jayla received her bachelor’s degree in Government and Politics with a concentration in International Relations from the University of Maryland, College Park, as well as two certificates in French and Arabic respectively. During her time in undergrad, Jayla studied abroad in Santiago, Chile, Marrakech, Morocco, and Nice, France. Throughout her stay in Morocco, she visited multiple organizations geared toward women’s aid and development, which prompted her interest in working with an organization that promotes an increasing role of women in society, in addition to providing aid to women around the world.

Prior to working with Vital Voices, Jayla held multiple internships, including one with the Department of Energy specializing in Counterproliferation and Counterterrorism. She is a Maryland native and loves spending her free time traveling or spending time with her friends and family.
