When I became a fellow I was working to start a peer tutoring club at my high school in Florida to reach out to disadvantaged students. I ran that program for two years until I graduated and handed it off to new leadership. I received a congressional medal of merit from my then congressman, Bill Posey, for my work and academic achievement. Since then, I moved to Long Island, NY, and I am now attending St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue as a Math Major with a planned minor in Philosophy. I became deathly ill shortly after graduating high school and am now a feeding tube user. As a result, I do a lot of outreach and advocacy about disability and feeding tubes.
