Mary Jane Lamoste, a Filipina social entrepreneur and marine biologist, is committed to advancing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. In 2020, MJ founded Tagpi-Tagpi, a circular social business aimed at economically empowering socially marginalized women in the rural coastal coral triangle through personalized initiative trainings. Tagpi-Tagpi transforms old clothes into wildlife-themed products while recycling plastic, effectively addressing multiple SDGs while fostering creativity and sustainable livelihoods.
Lamoste also works with the Sustainable Ocean Alliance as an Asia Representative, supporting youth-led organizations with their ocean initiatives. She has represented youth voices at global platforms such as the YSEALI Environmental Issues Fellowship, UN Ocean Conference Youth and Innovation Forum, Our Ocean Youth Leadership Summit, and recently the Yunus and Youth Fellowship,
