Kathryn Kosmides is the Founder and CEO of Garbo, a new kind of online background check on a mission to proactively prevent harm in the digital age. Through technology, tools, and education Garbo empowers individuals with access to potentially life-saving information while providing access to personalized resources. Since our founding in 2018, Garbo has reached millions of individuals, developed partnerships with other nonprofits like the National Domestic Violence Hotline, and solidified a partnership with Match Group — the largest online dating company.   

Kosmides is a longtime entrepreneur and activist who has worked with dozens of early stage venture-backed companies to launch and scale their sales and marketing. She has been published in every major news outlet including op-eds in Fortune and TechCrunch. In 2021, she was named one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business.
