Focus Areas
Gloria Justin is the Founder and CEO of Swahili Coast Farms, a pioneering oyster farm in Kenya using aquaculture to address climate change, biodiversity loss, and youth unemployment. Based in Gazi, the farm provides alternative livelihoods for coastal communities, with a strong emphasis on employing women and youth, restores marine biodiversity while producing a premium seafood product.
Justin’s journey began while working at an oyster farm in the UAE, where she gained the technical and business experience to bring sustainable aquaculture back to Kenya. She believes that ethical inclusive entrepreneurship is essential for building resilient communities and a more sustainable planet.
Gloria is an alumna of the YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa, a fellow of the Acumen Forcibly Displaced Persons program, and a Climate Leadership Fellow with AGNES Africa.
