Vital Voices celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8th with the Washington, D.C. Mentoring Walk at The REACH at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. For years, these walks have connected established women leaders and a rising generation of aspiring leaders to foster women’s leadership through mentoring and sharing insight. This year, the walk also included a panel discussion on the intersection between art and women’s empowerment. Panelists included Gayle Kabaker, Illustrator and Artist; Tara Rush, Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer of Audi of America, Inc.; Deborah Rutter, President, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Telesa Via, Vice President of Sales of Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants and was moderated by Vital Voices President & CEO Alyse Nelson. Thank you to our panelists and DC Council Members who served as mentors to young women from across the DC area.
