Voices of Resilience: A Conversation with Kah Walla

March 2020 – Kah Walla is a VV woman leader and Cameroonian entrepreneur, activist and political leader. Kah started her own consulting firm STRATEGIES!, and is committed to holding the company to competitive international standards. She’s been an active human rights and political activist – running for the President of Cameroon – and remaining committed to advancing the continent of Africa on principles of good governance.

Kah sits down with Vital Voices President and CEO Alyse Nelson to discuss the governance issues at hand when dealing with COVID-19 and the need for women to be at the decision-making table when rebuilding after this crisis.

Kah and Alyse discuss the misinformation and lack of testing that drove a false sense of security across Africa, and how that is now affecting Cameroonians and the rest of Africa. Kah offers a perspective on how the limited healthcare system puts Cameroon and Africa in general at a great disadvantage to dealing with the pandemic, and how 9 out of 10 Cameroonians work in the informal sector, so it is very difficult to ask them to shut down their work and stay home. Tune in!
