Voices of Resilience: A Conversation with Ashlee Wisdom

April 2020 – Leadership Incubator Fellow Ashlee Wisdom is an experienced public health and research professional. She is currently Director of Junto Health, an advisory firm that equips executives, investors, and founders with the perspective, know-how, and relationships they need to become a champion in digital health and deploy meaningful technology.

Plus, she is the founder of Health in Her HUE, a digital platform that connects Black women to healthcare providers, services and resources that are committed to their health and well-being. Through this platform, she endeavors to empower Black women, and their allies, to share, learn and innovate around the health issues that disproportionately affect them – and to provide them accurate and accountable information during COVID-19.

Ashlee joined the podcast with Alyse Nelson to discuss Health in Her HUE and what inspired Ashlee to start this organization. She offered perspective on how the Coronavirus pandemic has shifted her work knowing that many healthcare advisors are overwhelmed with patients, telemedicine and more. Ashlee also highlights health issues that she wants people to be aware of that disproportionally affect Black women, potentially even more so specifically during a global health crisis. Ashlee and Alyse also discuss the way America’s healthcare system will change after this pandemic, and what changes those might be, and ways Ashlee is creating content with healthcare providers to combat the unreliable and false information circulating online.
