Economic Progress

Supporting the creation of strong Public Private Partnerships is a core strategy for Vital Voices’ work in the Middle East and North Africa. Vital Voices has teamed with the Chambre Nationale des Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises (CNFCE) and the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) to launch a ground-breaking program to promote women artisans’ economic advancement in Tunisia.

Bringing together key stakeholders from government ministries, the private sector, NGOs and the artisan entrepreneurs, this program aims to support the formation of a coalition that will ultimately develop a physical center for women artisans in Tunisia, leveraging local resources to empower and enable women artisans to grow their businesses, increase revenues and create more jobs, thereby impacting their communities and the overall growth of the Tunisian economy. With products unique to Tunisia, there is opportunity to support the growth of this sector in terms of exports and percentage of GDP.
