Global Partnership to End Violence Against Women

Vital Voices launched the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Women on International Women’s Day in March 2010 during a global summit hosted by founding partners Vital Voices, the Avon Foundation for Women and the U.S. Department of State.

Delegations of experts from 15 countries were convened in Washington, D.C. for the summit, which focused on creating public-private partnerships to end violence against women. The 125 participants represented business, government, law enforcement, the NGO community, media and academia. They came together to share expertise, develop innovative solutions, leverage new partnerships and create a global action plan to end gender-based violence.
