Rehmah Kasule

Mentoring Africa Economic Empowerment

Raised in a community that largely discourages women’s participation in business, Rehmah Kasule is breaking down barriers and shifting women’s attitudes in the process. Owing to the example she has set, women in her community now see business as a vehicle through which to empower themselves and achieve gender equity.

An entrepreneur by trade, she runs her own marketing agency, Century Marketing. Rehmah is one of the few female employers in the male-dominated banking industry of Uganda. Though she has excelled in her field for over a decade, Rehmah’s true calling is supporting women’s entrepreneurship and business development.

One saying drives Rehmah: “If she walks alone, she will go very fast, and if she takes others with her, she will go very far.” Her goal is to inspire a new generation of economically independent women leaders, and she is well on her way. Rehmah initiated the Women Mentoring Women Initiative to empower girls in Uganda by training them in life skills and career planning to facilitate their transition from school to work and adulthood.
