Human Rights, Political and Public Leadership
When Saddam Hussein held power, Fatima Hassan Mohammed Al-Migdadi spoke publicly about absent freedoms and justice. Her bravery earned her a prison sentence on trumped up charges.
Ten years later, she and 30 other women political prisoners obtained their release. Fatima has taken an active role in rebuilding her country ever since, holding seats in the Legal Affairs and Human Rights, Public Relations, and Women and Children committees.
