Amal Al Masri
MENA Businesswomen's Network
“Overcoming challenges” is the modus operandi for Amal Al Masri, the CEO of Ougarit Group for Marketing in Palestine, a marketing and PR company with national and international clients. When asked about what frustrates her in her work, she says, “Actually, I don’t have this word in my dictionary. I consider it rather a challenge that I enjoy overcoming whenever it pops up in my path, such as the lack of [public] awareness of the importance of communications and public relations, shortages in a company’s budgets, or the small size of the Palestinian market.”
Amal, the founder and current head of the Founding Committee of the Palestine PR, Communications and Advertising Federation, is inspired by the power to change the world through creative solutions and is passionate about working with people and companies to help them achieve their goals.
Amal worked as a university professor as well as in the government and diplomatic sectors before becoming a successful businesswoman. She is currently a member of the Palestinian Women’s Society for Development. She is also a founding member, former president and a current board member of the Business Women Forum of Palestine (BWF). The BWF is the Palestine hub of the Middle East and North Africa Businesswomen’s Network, where she is a founder and current board member. She is also partner and editor in chief of Palestine Business Focus Magazine.
“I believe that if one remains in his or her place and doesn’t advance, it’s the end of any business,” she says. “And, for me, I can’t stop.” In the next few years, Amal has plans to take her work on a regional and international level, building new partnerships and affiliations.
Ranked in the Top Ten Influential Arab Women Working in Public Relations in the Arab World, Amal considers herself a leader and role model: “I’m a results-oriented women and I’m passionate about what I do.” She hopes that her work will inspire others to also overcome challenges to achieve their goals.
