Since coming into power just three months ago, President Joyce Banda of Malawi has significantly improved her country's international image while launching reforms that are steering Malawi in a direction of positive change. In an open letter to "the leaders of Eritrea, Afghanistan, Equatorial Guinea, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Sudan, Pakistan, Venezeuala, Zimbabwe and other countries too numerous to list here," John Norris of Foreign Policy Magazine presents Banda as an example of how to make positive change as a leader. These changes include fighting corruption and investing in women and children.
